Bormio is located in the Stelvio National Park in Alta Valtellina. The town is spread over a splendid valley at an altitude of 1223 metres surrounded by beautiful woods and mountains in the vicinity of the Ortles Cevedale range.

The area, at present has about 4,000 inhabitants and due to its special geographical position, near numerous alpine passes (Stelvio, Umbrail, Gavia) and its famous spa waters boasts an important historic past. Bormio was in fact already well-known during Roman times.

Tourism development has made this town an ideal resort for both summer and winter holidays.

All throughout the year it is possible to appreciate the thermal spa centres (The Old Baths, The New Baths and the Bormio Thermal Spa Complex) all recently renovated.

During the summer season, the excursions on offer are numerous and interesting, a trip to the Civic Museum, to the Natural History and Mineralogical Museum, to the Botanic Garden, the Golf Course, horse-riding, mountain climbing, mountain biking……

In winter the presence of snow on the ski slopes is guaranteed by the artificial snow cannons; 50 kms of ski slopes, cross-country tracks and the ice stadium.

The local wine and gastronomic specialities complete the pleasure of a visit to this “magnificent land”.
